SAFETY FIRST AND FOREMOST

The Lutheran Air landing zone should be a paved or grassy surface approximately 100 feet X 100 feet in size. It should be clear of debris and overhead obstructions. The landing zone should be marked with flares (if conditions are safe), lighted cones or emergency vehicles – one at each corner and the fifth on the side from which the wind is blowing. If vehicles are used to illuminate the landing zone, they should be placed outside the perimeter. The area must be secured from traffic and bystanders.
