HOW TO REQUEST LUTHERAN AIR

Lutheran Air is easily dispatched with one single phone number – 1.800.900.STAT. In case of unfavorable weather, a ground Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MoICU) will be dispatched with the flight crew to your local hospital for faciltiy-to-facility transfer. Calling 1.800.900.STAT will always ensure that an accepting physician will be available for your patients. Lutheran Air is a member of the Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS), and adheres to the strictest safety guidelines.

Lutheran Air Radio Frequencies: Transmit 460.500  Receive 465.500  PL 141.3. 

Individuals authorized to request Lutheran Air include:

  • Physicians
  • Nurses
  • Paramedics
  • Emergency medical technicians
  • City, county or state police officers
  • City or county firefighters
  • Industrial safety officers
  • State conservation officers

Important information to provide when requesting Lutheran Air:

  • Name and organization of requesting party
  • A telephone call-back number
  • Location and number of patients
  • Ground contact radio frequency, call sign, PL tone, if applicable
  • Patient age, weight, gender, situation and vital signs
  • Haz-mat situation
  • GPS coordinates if available

Lutheran Air should be called when:

  • Patient's condition requires specialized Advanced Life Support (ALS)
  • The local system does not provide ALS support
  • Patient transport is hindered by entrapment, traffic congestion, vehicle failure, weather or terrain
  • The distance to a hospital emergency department requires significant travel time
  • Transport by local EMS unit would impair local response capabilities
